Curricula for Preschoolers

Here is a list of the most popular preschool curricula, in no particular order, that there is to date. I am sure there are many more but I will simply stick to the top 13.

  1. Confession’s of a Homeschooler’s Letter of the Week
  2. (Before) Five in a Row
  3. Timberdoodle
  4. ABC Mouse
  5. The Preschool Journey
  6. Hands on Homeschooling
  7. Blue Manor Education Preschool Curriculum
  8. Sonlight
  9. Heart of Dakota
  10. ABC Home Preschool
  11. My Father’s World
  12. A Beka

Each of the curricula above has their merits but just remember there is no such thing as the perfect preschool curriculum as every child is unique. You also do not have to buy a curriculum as there are a lot of free options out there. Truth be told, you can even create your own curriculum, but that is another post.

Books to Help with Homeschooling Preschoolers

Here is a list of books that you may want to get your hands on as soon as possible.

1) The Well-Trained Mind: A Guide to Classical Education at Home (Third Edition)
I absolutely love this book as it has opened my eyes to what true education should be. It also gives you a guide with a list of curricula for each stage. If you plan to lay the foundations of Classical Homeschooling, then you need this book.

2) 101 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum
This book has been called one of the most essential books for homeschooling. It has under every subject the top ranking ones as well as details about all the other curricula out there. It even matches with your child’s learning style.

3) A Charlotte Mason Companion: Personal Reflections on The Gentle Art of Learning(TM)

4) So You’re Thinking About Homeschooling: Second Edition: Fifteen Families Show How You Can Do It (Focus on the Family)
