2 Absolutely Helpful and Easy Dinosaur Number Words (11-20) Activities

Teaching number words can seem a bit hard, but it doesn’t have to be. Jael has learned the first ten number words on her own, and I want to help her learn eleven to twenty. How do I plan to do this? What Math tools can I use? How can I teach my child the number words without her feeling overwhelmed or bored? I created a dinosaur number of words pack.

Dinosaur Number Words

I won’t lie to you. My first thought was to only write the number words we will be working on, on her dry erase board in her room, but I figured:

  1. Caleb would erase it
  2. Jael might draw over it
  3. Jael might ignore it altogether

After some brainstorming, I came up with two activities that I know she can repeat on her own:

  • Self-correcting number words puzzles
  • reusable worksheets
  • reusable clip cards

Dinosaur Number Words Puzzles

In order to use the number words puzzles correctly, follow the instructions below. The instructions are also included in the pack as well.

  1. Print the puzzles on cardstock and cut down the middle.
  2. Cut the puzzles out and separate each piece.
  3. Have your child match the number word to the number

NOTE: You can make the puzzles self-correcting by writing the correct number

Dinosaur Unscramble Worksheet

Unscrambling is a new skill Jael is working on and so I thought this would be a perfect way for her to work on this skill. I really wanted her to be able to re- do this activity and so I decided to

  • Print the pages
  • Slip them in our Write and Wipe Pockets
  • Allowed her to use dry erase markers
