The free common and proper nouns worksheets I will be sharing today are a must have if you are struggling to teach your kids this concept.
Welcome to Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas Activities and Christmas Worksheets! I will be sharing ideas and resources to help you teach your kids through the Christmas season. I know that homeschooling with Christmas drawing near can seem almost impossible and I am here to make this stress free.
Every day for 12 days I will share a printable or activity that solidifies or teaches a concept. All you have to do in addition is to fill in the subject gaps. When I share a math printable, you then add something grammar/spelling/writing related.

The Different Sections of the Free Common and Proper Nouns Worksheets
Section 1: Warm Up (What is a Noun?)
In this section of the grammar worksheets, we review what a noun is. A definition is given as well as examples.
The first activity has a list of words and all the nouns need to be identified by underlining or circling. If your child has a dot marker they can use that as well.
The second activity in this warm up involves identifying nouns in a sentence. Again they can underline, circle or even color the noun.
Section 2: Identifying Common Nouns
This section has 2 activities that allows your child to practice identifying a common noun. It also gives a quick definition at the top of the page as well as a tip.
Section 3: Identifying Proper Nouns
Similar to Section 2, there is a definition of a proper noun as well as exercises to help your child identify them.
Section 4: Extra Practice
If you feel that your child has mastered the exercises in the free common and proper noun worksheets, then the extra practice portion is perfect!
Using Luke 2 of your preferred Bible version, you can ask your student to either write a sentence or paragraph from that chapter. They will then identify the common and proper nouns in the section they have written.
