Frozen Burgers in Air Fryer (How to Make Your Perfect Burger)

Frozen burgers in air fryer? Do those words even go together?

Have you ever asked the question, “How long does it take to cook frozen burgers in the air fryer?” Or “Can I even cook a burger while it’s still in its frozen state?”

I love a good juicy burger, always have and always will. Sadly when it’s winter, there is no way I am shoveling snow to get to my barbecue grill and this is when air fryer burgers will do the trick.

(How to make your perfect burger)

Now air frying the perfect burger (whether it’s made from ground beef, ground turkey, or veggie burgers) is pretty simple. But before I continue, let’s make a quick pause.

Benefits of Having an Air Fryer

I LOVE my Ninja Foodi air fryer combo. It allows for:

  • easy clean up
  • a healthier way to cook otherwise fatty foods (fast food)
  • perfect for small spaces if there just isn’t enough room in your kitchen
  • its an easy way to cook meals
  • uses high heat for the cooking process with a quick cook time
  • a few other benefits

While there may be several versions of the air fryer oven, just remember to:

  • every air fryer cooks at a different time
  • for the best results ensure that you use it often (practice makes perfect)
  • if it’s your first time using your air fryer, read the instructions and try simpler recipes
  • your air fryer basket (and the size of your air fryer) is large enough for the meals you want to make in the future

Okay onto whipping up those frozen patties for lunch quickly. We’ve got less than 20 minutes!

Prepping Your Frozen Burgers in Air Fryer

You have two choices: you can make your burgers from scratch or you can simply grab your favorite grocery store or butcher burgers.

If you are short on time, there is no shame in using a frozen hamburger patty.

Let’s assume you are going for the second option- using a pre-made patty with your meat of choice. A few options for your delicious burger that can be made are:

  • air fryer frozen burgers
  • air fryer turkey burgers
  • chicken patties

Frozen Burgers in Air Fryer Adventures (steps)

So what temperature do we cook our frozen burgers in the air fryer?

Cooking time depends on the thickness of the burgers (a 3 oz vs a 6 oz ) but the general rule is 12-13 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees.

Preheat your air fryer if it calls for it.

(I personally skip this step)

Cook your burgers in the air fryer.

Place your burgers on the tray of your air fryer and place them in a single layer (don’t stack them or crown the basket) and cook until it reaches the desired temperature. Remove from air fryer and place on bun or lettuce.

Add your condiments and toppings

This is the time to add your slice of cheese (or 2) for juicy cheeseburgers or simply add your ketchup, bbq sauce, or mayonnaise. Whatever floats your boat.
