Christmas is coming and if you are trying to go a cheaper route this Christmas then this post is for you. Today, I will be sharing a few (cheap Christmas gifts) for your preschooler.
Everything in this post will be either something that your preschooler can make, created FOR your preschooler or something that can be BOUGHT for under $20. Let’s walk.
This year will be the first year we will ever give our kids a gift. Seeing that I am leaning more towards cheaper gifts as well as the DIY Christmas gifts that are meaningful to their recipients, I asked for help.
Who did I ask? I sent out an SOS to a few fellow bloggers, and they were more than happy to oblige this craft- impaired Janadian (Jamaican + Canadian).
1. First on my list is this Sharpie Christmas mug. I am sure if you have been on Pinterest you would have seen these mugs. However, East Coast Mommy does her twist on these mugs. First of all the design is different. Forget about writing a name or a message on your mug (even though I may do that for my husband) East Coast Mommy did something simple that makes you say, “How come I didn’t think of that?” Check it out here.
2. While I confess that the next DIY I am about to share with you is not Christmas themed, it can still be used. Trust me on this… you WANT to click here. Krystal from My Life and Travels does something so simple and heartwarming that it just melts you. Well, it did for me, anyway.
3. Jael is a HUGE fan of preschool sensory activities. She loves to smelling things.. this kid will smell the remote to see if it has a scent (it’s that bad). So clearly I need to find a Christmas gift for J and all her toddler friends. Thanks to Learn with Play at Home I now have this DIY Christmas Tree Playdough Gift Bag. I may, however, use either my cinnamon playdough, cranberry playdough or whatever idea I may whip up for J.
4. Craftulate has a list of Kid Made Crafts for Mailing that can be sent with Christmas cards that are light which means it’s cheaper to mail as well. This is right up my alley as I have family back in Jamaica and sending a package to Jamaica or the UK at Christmas is not for the faint of heart.
Here are a few other DIY’s I have my eye on.
–Jackson Pollock Art with Markers by BPhotoart
–Clay Nativity Ornaments from Crafty Mom Share
–Sweet Holiday Smells Jar from Kitchen Floor Crafts
Frugal Gifts for Christmas
And if you want to go the route of buying a cheap gift, check these out. Remember, just because its cheap doesn’t mean it is not awesome. J loves a cardboard box as I stated in this post.
The last item I have on my list that can be purchased is Melissa & Doug 100-Piece Wood Blocks Set
What are your frugal plans for Christmas? Let me know in the comments below.

It will greatly bless my family as we work hard to support my husband get through his Ph.D. program. $500 could totally help us pay for tuition next semester.
