We have finished our preschool lesson plan for Valentine’s day. Yes, we are a bit early but that is perfectly okay. This week was pretty great as we kicked off the new year. Here is a recap of our week.

Valentine Sensory Bin
J thoroughly enjoyed her valentine sensory bin. She not only did her normal pouring and scooping but this time she placed her feet in the bin to feel it.
She also played I Spy with her bin and other imaginative games.
Valentine Frozen Worksheets
We did not have our typical worksheets for this preschool lesson plan. Instead, I did a Frozen inspired worksheet. We worked on drawing shapes as well as using her trusty dot markers to find different letters.
Valentine Reading Books
These are the books that we read this week for our preschool theme. Before even thinking of buying them, you may want to check at your library first to see if it can be borrowed or if they have any suggestions.
1. Who Will Be My Valentine This Year?
This book was one of J’s favourite from last year and this time she understood far more and was very interactive. She roared with the lion and felt sad for Hippo.
2. Be My Valentine Peter Rabbit
J’s favourite part of this book was definitely the surprise sound instead the book.
This was another book that we read last year and unfortunately for me, J thought it would be funny to do some of the actions in the book. Not sure why she thought it was a great idea to ‘lick my feetsies’. A preschooler’s mind is indeed colourful.
Valentine Preschool Science Experiment
Science this week was a BIG hit. J compared the reactions of 2 liquids to baking soda. Her words were, “Totally awesome!!!” You can read about it here.
