With Fall weather creeping near in Northern Ontario (and I am one of the few who missed the cooler weather), I wanted to create a few quick, hands-on preschool letter activities for J to get her into the fall mood.
I had recently purchased a magnifying glass for her as she believes that she is a super spy. Once the magnifying glass came, I was stumped. I had no idea how I could incorporate learning and her love of being a super spy. Luckily I asked one of my friends and she guided me along the right path. Through this FIND THE LETTER CLIP CARDS were born.
I should point out, that J chose all the graphics on these clip cards and was very pleased with herself. Perhaps she is a future graphic designer in the making?
These cards were pretty quick to put together as all you will need are a few things:
- magnifying glasses
- clothes pin
- Fall Find the Letter Clip Cards
Once you have printed your cards, simply cut along the lines and stack them together. You can either staple them together, use a ring or a brad (that’s what we used) or you can choose not to secure them at all.
If your child has never used a magnifying glass before, now would be the time to demonstrate this skill. Once this is taught, let them know that there is a letter hidden in the picture and they need to find it. When the letter is found, they then have the use the clothespin to clip the matching letter from the 3 options.
