J LOVES her preschool sensory activities. She loves them so much that she will ask for certain activities by name. Seeing that she loves having her senses stimulated especially her nostrils I figured another round of scented playdough should be right up her alley.

Cranberry Playdough
– 1/2 Cup Salt
– 1 Cups of Flour
– 1 Tablespoon of Cream of Tartar
– 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
– 1/4 Cup Pureed Cranberries
– 1 Cup Just Boiled Water
Mix all the dry ingredients together and then add the pureed cranberries in the bowl. Once that is done add the just boiled water and mix until it is of playdough consistency.
Cinnamon Playdough
– 1/2 Cup Salt
– 1 Cups of Flour
– 1 Tablespoon of Cream of Tartar
– 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
– 2 Tablespoons Ground Cinnamon
– 1 Cup Just Boiled Water
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Once that is done add the just boiled water and mix until it is of playdough consistency. If for some reason the playdough feels too soft, simply sprinkle a bit more flour on it and knead.
Once J got her hands on her playdough, she quickly went to her shelf and grabbed her playdough accessories: her rolling pin and other cookie cutters. C even seemed interested but as usual, he grabbed something and ran off.
She smelled it, she rolled it into different shapes and even made a hot dog for me to eat. She also made Playdough Boy as well as Playdough Girl. Oh yeah, and she smelled it some more. I am definitely going to try and keep up with stimulating her olfactory nerves. This is simply a fancy way of saying that I am going to make more things that she can smell.
I hope your preschooler will have fun with these sensory activities. What has been your favorite sensory activity this week? Comment below.

How long will the cranberry play dough last? Using pureed cranberries would make me think it will get moldy soon after making it.

It lasted for 2 weeks and we placed it in a small ziplock bags or an airtight container. I don't trust it after that. ;)
