Yes, Thanksgiving is gone and now it is time to focus on Christmas. I had recently made a Christmas sensory bin for J and shared it over at my friend Monique’s site Living Life and Learning as one of our preschool sensory activities. Today we decided to find a new way to use our bin and I will share what we came up with.
Once our bin was made and J had perhaps a little too much fun with it, I put my few brain cells to work to come up with another use for our sensory bin. J on her own had come up with a few, all activities leading to me using my vacuum cleaner for clean up. This is what we came up with.

First I grabbed all of J’s magnetic letters and ensured that all 26 were there and chose only the lower case. Once I was sure I had everything I grabbed my laptop and created a quick sheet with all the letters of the alphabet in upper case.
I then hid her magnetic letters in her bin and told her to come and play.
I gave J a dot marker and told her to find a letter in her bin. When she did, she was then told to dot the matching letter on her paper. It was a big hit. I was very happy that she had to get ready to leave shortly as her sheet was almost completed and I am sure she would have asked for the activity again.

Great activity! I love playing hide and seek. Where would I find the dot markers? Are they the same ones used for bingo?
