Teaching anyone to read can seem almost impossible especially if you have never done it before, at least it is in my case. Luckily I am a basket case and love finding out everything I can to teach my kids to read. Both of my kids are at different stages in their reading journeys however J is ahead as she is a bit older. When we started our reading journey, we learnt the preschool letter sounds and I also created a few sight words worksheets to help her.
We first started with the pre-primer sight words- we took the sight word list and divided it into a more manageable group for her and so all the sight word worksheets that we do will be divided into these groups. I encourage you to download the list at the beginning of this post to to help track your child’s progress. Thanks again for walking with me.
