‘I love using all the toys and tools we have around the house to help my kids work on a skill in a fun way. C, my son loves everything in its place and so he loves sorting. He has sorted paper clips and a few other things around. Today I will share with you his tangram color sort.
This activity was so quick and simple to put together and it allowed me to focus on J while she was doing her work. The best part was that C loved it so much that once he sorted all the pieces, he simply emptied the cups and started all over again.

- Place all the cups that correspond to your tangrams on the tray.
- Empty all the tangrams on the tray
- Demonstrate what needs to be done with a few tangrams
- Have your child sort by color.
We were also able to talk about the shapes of each tangram piece. C had a had time saying parallelogram and simply called it a diamond. A few other things that you could do are count the shapes as they are placed in the cups as well as sorting them by shapes.
